There are many different strategies for playing roulette. There are different ways to win, you can take risks and put a lot, you can not take risks and get less. In this article, we will take a closer look at the most popular strategies for winning roulette.
The name of all the strategies is:
- Martingale Strategy / Double Up System
- Alambert Strategy
- Fibonacci Strategy
- Labouchere Strategy
- James Bond
Martingale Strategy / Double Up System
The Martingale is the most common system that players use. The method is simple – you increase your bets after every consecutive loss and then when you win, you go back to betting the original amount and start over.
Most people use the Martingale on the even chance bets where it’s known as the Double Up System, because you simply double your bets after every loss until you win, at which point you go back to betting the original amount.
The important thing to understand about the Martingale / DoubleUp is that it can increase your chances of winning over the short term by betting big to win small. You will have more winning sessions than losing sessions, but your wins will be small and your losses, while less frequent, will be much bigger.
That is the most common progression that you would use for Red/Black, Under/Over betting. You don’t have to stick to the progression, but you do have to stick to the rule of doubling your last loss bet.
Examples of progression if you lose your bets 10 times a row
1 – 2 – 4 – 8 – 16 – 32 – 64 – 128 – 256 – 512 .
5 – 10 – 20 – 40 – 80 – 160 -320 – 640 – 1280 – 2560 .
7 – 14 – 28 – 56 – 112 – 224 – 448 – 896 – 1792 – 3584 .
So long as you’re doubling your previous bet you’re fine. We would not recommend starting with a high bets, though because as you can see, the higher your starting number, the quicker your bets become too risky. You should always start out with the lowest possible bet.
If you’ve never used or heard of the Martingale system before, here’s exactly how you would use it, using the example of betting on Red. You would start by placing a 1 coin bet on Red, if it loses, you increase your next bet to 2 coins. If this loses, you increase your next bet to 4 coins and so on. You keep on doubling your bets every time you lose until you win. Then when you get the win, you go back to the starting betting 1 coin again. You don’t have to stick to betting on the same colour / Roll, it’s totally up to you which one you bet on. So long as you keep doubling your bets, you will always be in profit when you get the win.
The D’Alembert is one of the safest system you can use because while you do increase your bets after a loss, it’s at a much smaller rate than the Martingale. All you do with this system is pick a starting bet, then you increase your bets by one after a loss, and decrease them by one after a win. The theory is that once you have as many wins as losses, you will be in profit by the amount of bets you’ve placed.
Let’s go through a quick example starting with a bet of 10:
- Bet 2 and loss
- Bet 3 and loss
- Bet 5 and win
- Bet 6 and loss
- Bet 7 and win
- Bet 6 and win
- Bet 5 and loss
- Bet 6 and win
- Bet 5 and win
- Bet 4 and loss
The math will be : 0 – 2 – 3 + 5 – 6 + 7 + 6 – 5 + 6 + 5 – 4 = 9
So if you are going to use this strategy you have to be patient and be risky.
In the above sequence, there is 5 losses and 5 wins but despite this, you are in profit by 9$
The Fibonacci is an interesting roulette strategy because it’s safer than others such as the Martingale but dont care it being safer, there’s still potential for it to win.
it’s a simple math theory where you start with one and add the two previous numbers together to give you the next number.
The thing you do is that you multiply the numbers as you can see below.
1 – 2 – 3 – 5 – 8 – 13 – 21 – 34 – 55 – 89 – 144 – 233
4 – 5 – 9 – 14 – 23 – 37 – 60 – 93 – 153 – 246 – 399 – 645
This is a very smart, but risky strategy
The Labouchere is a slightly more complex system that may require some practice to get used to. It’s a system that you dictate the rules for before you start playing. You decide how much you will bet and you decide how long you will play for.
First thing’s first, this is an even chance betting system so it can be used on Red/Black, Odd/Even and 1-18/19-36. It can’t be used elsewhere on the table because the maths wouldn’t add up.
So what you do is construct yourself a “betting line” and the numbers will dictate how much you bet and the length will go some way to dictating how long you will bet. So this is what a simple Labouchere betting line could look like (remember it’s totally up to you).
1 – 1 – 1 – 1 – 1 – 1
That’s a very simple betting line that keeps the bets as low as possible. So once you have your line, you take the number from the left hand side of the line and the number from the right hand side of the line and add them together. This gives you the number that you need to bet.
Using the line above, the left hand number and right hand number added together is 2, so your first bet is 2. If you win, you cross both the left and right hand numbers off your line, so it would now look like this:
1 – 1 – 1 – 1
This is one of the two golden rules with the Labouchere: always cross both left and right hand numbers off your line after a win. Once you’ve crossed the numbers off, you then take the new left and right hand numbers, add them together to give you the next number to bet. You repeat this process until there’s no numbers left in your line. At this point you either quit and walk away, or construct yourself a new line.
What Do You Do After A Loss?
When you lose a bet, you don’t cross any numbers off your line. Instead you add the number that you’ve just bet to the right hand side of your line. So using the above line as an example again, if you lose your first bet of 2, your line would then look like this:
1 – 1 – 1 – 1 – 1 – 1 – 2
This is the second golden rule for the Labouchere: always add the number you’ve just bet to the right hand side of the line after a loss and don’t cross any numbers off. Now let’s go through an example of playing through to the end of a betting line. The line we shall use is this slightly more complicated one:
1 – 3 – 4 – 2 – 1 – 2
Bet 1: 1 + 2 = 3 so the bet is 3. We place a bet of 3 and it lost. The line now looks like this:
1 – 3 – 4 – 2 – 1 – 2 – 3
Bet 2: 1 + 3 = 4 so the bet is 4. We place a bet of 4 and it wins. The line now looks like this:
3 – 4 – 2 – 1 – 2
Bet 3: 3 + 2 = 5 so the bet is 5. We place a bet of 5 and it wins. The line now looks like this:
4 – 2 – 1
Bet 4: 4 + 1 = 5 so the bet is 5. We place a bet of 5 and it lost. The line now looks like this:
4 – 2 – 1 – 5
Bet 5: 4 + 5 = 9 so the bet is 9. We place a bet of 9 and it wins. The line now looks like this:
2 – 1
Bet 6: 2 + 1 = 3 so the bet is 3. We place a bet of 3 and it wins. The line has now been completed.
When you get to the end of your betting line your profit will be the total of all the numbers added together from the original betting line. So with the above line that we used, your total win would be as follows:
1 + 3 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 13
It doesn’t matter how many wins or losses you get along the way, so long as you get to the end of your betting line, your profit will be the total of the original betting line added together.
James bond strategy
James bond strategy is a very simple betting system that you might get a lot of profit on.
You need minimum 20$ to start off with. So here is what the strategy goes out on. You have to place 14$ on high numbers, the high number is (19-36), and 5$ on six numbers, (13-18).
And 1$ on the green as a backup. You can also have a look at the picture.
With this strategy you can only lose if it rolls 1-12. Which is a very low % instead of your winning %. But as said, you never know! Everything is risky in CS:GO Gambling.
